A working courthouse, the Thomas County Courthouse was built in 1907 and showcases the design of architect James C. Holland. Designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, the courthouse features a five-story clock tower with a Seth Thomas clock. The main entrance is located in a Syrian arch and projected wings on each side of the tower have three windows on every story and a hipped roof with a dormer. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Spirit of the Prairie statue by Charlie Norton graces the entrance.
